چکیده

In this paper we enhance the well-known fifth order WENO shock-capturing scheme by using deep learning techniques. This fine-tuning of an existing algorithm is implemented training a rather small neural network to modify smoothness indicators in improve numerical results especially at discontinuities. our approach no further post-processing needed ensure consistency method. Moreover, formal accuracy resulting can be proven. We demonstrate findings with inviscid Burgers’ equation, Buckley–Leverett equation and 1-D Euler equations gas dynamics. Hereby investigate classical Sod problem Lax show that novel method outperforms schemes simulations where solution too diffusive or tends overshoot shocks. Finally, straight-forward extension two-dimensional problems included illustrated 2D equation.

Fifth Order Multi-moment WENO Schemes for Hyperbolic Conservation Laws

A general approach is given to extend WENO reconstructions to a class of numerical schemes that use different types of moments (i.e., multi-moments) simultaneously as the computational variables, such as point values and grid cell averages. The key is to re-map the multi-moment values to single moment values (e.g., cell average or point values), which can then be used to invoke known, standard ...

A Fifth Order Flux Implicit WENO Method

The weighted essentially non-oscillatory method (WENO) is an excellent spatial discretization for hyperbolic partial differential equations with discontinuous solutions. However, the time-step restriction associated with explicit methods may pose severe limitations on their use in applications requiring large scale computations. An efficient implicit WENO method is necessary. In this paper, we ...

Very-high-order weno schemes

We study WENO(2r-1) reconstruction [Balsara D., Shu C.W.: J. Comp. Phys. 160 (2000) 405–452], with the mapping (WENOM) procedure of the nonlinear weights [Henrick A.K., Aslam T.D., Powers J.M.: J. Comp. Phys. 207 (2005) 542–567], which we extend up to WENO17 (r = 9). We find by numerical experiment that these procedures are essentially nonoscillatory without any stringent CFL limitation (CFL ∈ ...

Accelerating high-order WENO schemes using two heterogeneous GPUs

A double-GPU code is developed to accelerate WENO schemes. The test problem is a compressible viscous flow. The convective terms are discretized using third- to ninth-order WENO schemes and the viscous terms are discretized by the standard fourth-order central scheme. The code written in CUDA programming language is developed by modifying a single-GPU code. The OpenMP library is used for parall...
